Sherpa Blanket

Blanket Collection — Homemonde

Wrap Yourself in Something Better

There is a moment in every Indian winter — or every over-air-conditioned afternoon — where a single sheet is not quite enough and a heavy quilt is too much. A good blanket fills that space exactly. Soft enough to want against your skin, warm enough to actually do the job, and versatile enough to live on the sofa, the armchair, or the bed depending on what the day calls for.

Our Fort Mellow collection is built entirely from flannel — a fabric chosen specifically because it delivers genuine warmth without weight, softness without fuss, and durability without compromise.

Why Flannel Is the Right Material for Indian Winters

Warmth that breathes — Flannel's loose fibre weaving creates natural air pockets within the fabric. These trap warmth efficiently while still allowing air to circulate, which means you stay warm without overheating — a critical quality in India where winter temperatures fluctuate significantly across the day.

Genuinely soft from day one — The flannel brushing process raises the surface fibres into a characteristic plush texture that is immediately soft against skin.

Medium weight, maximum comfort — Heavy enough to provide real warmth; light enough that you can drape it across a sofa arm, wrap it around your shoulders, or fold it at the foot of a bed without it feeling oppressive.

Kind to sensitive skin — Flannel's soft, smooth surface is gentle and non-irritating, making it suitable for all skin types including children and those prone to skin sensitivity.

Durable through repeated washing — Our flannel blankets are engineered to retain their softness and texture wash after wash.

Our Collection

Solid Plush Blanket

The everyday essential. A clean, smooth flannel surface with a uniform plush pile — soft, warm, and visually calm in the way that a well-chosen solid always is.

The Solid Plush is the most versatile blanket in the range: it works equally well on a bed, a sofa, or wrapped around you in an armchair, in any room and any season where warmth is needed.

Feel: Smooth, plush, uniformly soft
Material: 100% Flannel
Finish: Solid colour with an even plush pile surface
Available colours: Baby Pink, Frost Blue, Grey, Storm Grey, Green, Emerald Green

Best for: Everyday use on beds, sofas, and armchairs; gifting; anyone who wants reliable warmth in a clean, unfussy format.

Style tip: Drape a solid plush blanket in a contrasting colour over your sofa for both warmth and visual interest.

Wave Plush Blanket

The same flannel warmth as the Solid Plush, with a surface that goes one step further. The Wave Plush features a raised wave-textured pile — a sculpted pattern across the blanket surface that adds visible depth and tactile dimension.

Running your hand across it reveals a flowing, rippled texture that catches light gently and makes the blanket feel designed rather than simply functional.

Feel: Deeply plush, textured, tactile
Material: 100% Flannel
Finish: Wave-textured sculpted pile in solid colours
Available colours: Pink, Frost Blue, Grey, Emerald Green, Lilac, Storm Grey

Best for: Bedrooms and living rooms where the blanket is part of the visual story; gifting; anyone who wants a blanket that looks as considered as it feels.

Style tip: Fold it across the foot of a bed and let the textured surface become a subtle decorative feature.

Sherpa Blanket

The warmest blanket in the range, and the most luxurious. The Sherpa construction combines two distinct surfaces in one reversible blanket: a smooth flannel face on one side and a deeply textured, wool-like Sherpa pile on the other.

The Sherpa side mimics the soft, dense texture of natural sheepskin — warm, plush, and instantly comforting. The flannel side is smoother and slightly cooler by comparison.

Feel: Reversible — smooth flannel on one side, dense Sherpa pile on the other
Material: Flannel face with Sherpa lining
Finish: Dual-sided construction
Available colours: Emerald Green, Frost Blue, Grey, Pink, Storm Grey

Best for: Deep winter nights, hill station homes, cooler climates, and anyone wanting maximum warmth without moving to a heavy quilt.

Style tip: Drape the Sherpa side outward at the foot of the bed for a rich, inviting winter look.

How to Choose the Right Blanket

For AC use or mild winter nights — The Solid Plush is light, breathable, and warm without feeling heavy.

For a bedroom where the blanket is part of the décor — The Wave Plush adds texture and visual depth that elevates the overall bed styling.

For genuine winter warmth — The Sherpa delivers noticeably more insulation thanks to its dual-layer construction.

For gifting — All three work beautifully, but the Sherpa feels the most premium in hand.

Size Guide

The Double size also works comfortably for king-size beds with moderate coverage.

What Is Flannel?

Flannel is a medium-weight woven fabric that has been brushed to raise the surface into a soft, fuzzy texture. This brushing process creates the warmth and softness flannel is known for without adding excessive weight.

Unlike synthetic fleece, flannel remains breathable — allowing warmth to stay trapped while still letting moisture and excess heat escape. This makes it especially suited to Indian winters and air-conditioned rooms.
